Lots of brides tell me they want to look polished but natural on their wedding day. So what's the easiest way to look special-event worthy without piling any extra goop on your face? Professionally shaped brows. Having well-groomed brows is a great way to add glamour without adding a lot of extra makeup. Just make sure to find a brow studio that uses tweezers, not wax, which isn't as precise and can tear the sensitive skin around your area. I paid a visit to celebrity eyebrow guru Ramy Gafni at his midtown studio yesterday; he told me that he recommends brides come in six months before the wedding for a consultation, giving you more than enough time to fix any major issues, like patchy or overplucked brows. Then all you need to do is maintain your regimen, and go in for a final professional shaping a day or two pre-wedding. Ramy also gave me a sample of his Miracle Brow! , a gel-based brow filler that works on any hair color. It's the perfect thing for filling in and defining my thin, blonde-ish eyebrows. —Lauren Matthews
P.S. If you're in New York, you have to check out Ramy's new brow bars inside the Duane Reade Look Boutiques at Rockefeller Center (51st and Sixth) and Herald Square (Broadway and 35th), where a brow shaping by a trained specialist costs just $24.
