I grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands (I know, tough life) and while I've been a New Yorker for nearly a decade now there are definitely moments I long to sit by the ocean or laze around on a long, sandy beach for a weekend like I used to. Since the islands of my childhood are a bit of a hike for a short getaway, I recently looked into a jaunt to
Bermuda since it's just a two-hour flight from the city and has some pretty spectacular beaches of its own. As it happens, the island's tourism board is currently offering some great deals as part of their "Endless Summer" program (it includes a free night or nights at some of Bermuda's lovelier hotels, plus deals at restaurants).
