Our Party for Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta!

We had a grand time Thursday at the Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta premiere party we co-hosted with TLC and Bridals by Lori (check back Monday for more pictures from the party).

There are parties, and then there are PARTIES. And I was lucky enough to go to one of those splashy, capital-letter events this Thursday.

Brides Atlanta and brides.com helped throw a party in downtown Atlanta to celebrate the premiere of TLC's new series, Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, and the 30th anniversary of the opening of Bridal's by Lori's (the salon is the center of the show). We've always gone to Lori to help us answer questions, so it's exciting to see her in action on TV.

And there we a lot of people who wanted to see Lori in action, in person—the guests topped 500, and we even saw party invitations for sale on craigslist! (note to self: don't invite people who would sell their invitation to a party on craigslist.)

Models were decked out in dresses from a number of wedding gown designers who also came to show their support, like Judd Waddel, Lazaro Perez from Lazaro, Vantana Watters of Watters, Lee Fein of Marisa, Rita Vinires of Rivini, plus cool accessory designers Maria Elena and Toni Federici, and one of my favorite new shoe designers, Ann Roth.

I must thank Efran Lebron Arroyo, the genius stylist/designer from Bridal's by Lori, who came to my rescue in the middle of HIS big night, to solve my ridiculous wardrobe malfunction with expert application of double-sided tape. Speaking of people who make me appear more attractive and together than I am, I'd like to also thank Steve Moore at The Moore Agency for making me look presentable and feel beautiful with his team of hair and makeup artists. Oh, and he also did the models, too.

And one more shout-out to the chef/creator of the best gelato I've ever eaten: Sukai Crook brought me a drop of heaven in the shape of a cone of butter pecan gelato. Beg, borrow, or steal whatever you can to get a Dreamy Gelato & Chocolates cart at your wedding. (Of course you then also must invite me so I can eat more of it.)

If you didn't catch the preview last night, don't worry: TLC's series Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta officially premieres on August 6th at 9p.m.

Here's a list of all the wedding vendors we asked to be a part of this event, and if you see a picture you love, it came from one of these folks. It's like our "best wedding vendors in Atlanta" cheat sheet! —Julie Raimondi
