Avoid a makeup meltdown

I'm a foundation-wearer (my fair skin looks to blotchy and red if I skip it), but in the summer I like to switch to wearing a tinted moisturizer to avoid the ever-so-attractive melting effect humidity can have full-coverage foundations. And I think I just came across my new favorite summer beauty product: Moisturizing Face Screen Plus from Berkeley-based skincare line Marie Veronique Organics. This non-greasy, light moisturizer comes in no-tint, light tint, and medium tint options and contains SPF 30—another summer must for me (see: aforementioned fair skin). In fact, the Environmental Working Group recently rated the Moisturizing Face Screen as their #1 recommended moisturizer with SPF for safety and efficacy. And (like all Marie Veronique Organic products) it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals, breakout-causing waxes, skin-drying water, nut oils or nanoparticles (okay, honestly, I have no idea what a nanoparticle is, but apparently they're harmful!). The best part, though, is that the tinted color disappears into my skin—and doesn't make me look ghostly white in photographs, like a lot of sunscreens can. A two-ounce bottle of Moisturizing Face Screen Plus costs $45 (seriously, it's worth the money people!), and you can buy it on amazon.com. —Lauren Matthews
