If you've been trying to whip your body into peak shape for your wedding but have hit a plateau, kick it up a notch by signing up for Warrior Fitness Bootcamp classes. Based on the rigorous physical fitness program of the US Marine Corps, the workout includes an obstacle course, calisthenics, free weights, circuit training, running, and other body-pulverizing exercises.

I recently visited WFBC's no-frills facility near Herald Square (29 W. 35th St., 3rd floor) to try a class myself, and the workout is definitely no joke—I seriously don't think I've sweated so much in my life. I was red-faced and gasping for breath during the entire hour-long high-intensity class, as we did mountain-climbers, squats, sit-ups, jumping jacks, squats, lunges, several runs up and down flights of stairs, and visited the obstacle course. But don't worry if you're no G.I. Jane just yet: instructors and former drill sergeants Alex and Ruben make you work hard, but know just how hard to push you depending on your fitness level. The class was challenging and never boring, and hearing all the encouragement from fellow class-goers made me push myself harder—I got muscles working that I didn't even know I had. (Every class is different so your body doesn't become used to doing the same thing, meaning your muscles are constantly working and burning fat.)

If you're up for the challenge, call 212-967-7477 or visit warriorfitnessbootcamp.com to sign up. Classes range in price from $20-$50, depending upon the package you sign up for, and 3-4 classes a week is recommended to see the best results. —Lauren Matthews, editor, Brides New York
