Anybody out there ambitious enough to attempt designing their own floral arrangements? If so, I'd definitely suggest enlisting the help of family members and bridesmaids, and signing up for a few of the hands-on floral design classes at Flower School New York .
Located inside Michael George's midtown floral studio, the school offers flower arranging classes geared towards amateurs and professionals alike. The weekly two-hour master classes include a demonstration and hands-on learning, with topics ranging from hand-tied bouquets to monochromatic, minimalist designs. And in March, the school will be hosting a four-day seminar concentrating on designing table arrangements and bouquets for weddings, taught by sought after pros like Meredith Waga of Belle Fleur and Elizabeth Ryan. The series, which takes place from 12-3 p.m. March 9-12 and includes lunch, costs $1,200; to sign up call 212-661-8074 or email Vanessa@flowerschoolny.com. —Lauren Matthews, editor, Brides New York
