From the image to the left you probably guessed that Melissa Sweet designers Antonio Gual and Lia Mcnairy were inspired by butterflies. "The movement of butterflies was the inspiration for Uma (the sketch shown below), both aesthetically pleasing and functional, to create an ethereal and majestic gown," they told Brides.com.
Uma is a strapless confection of silk organza whipped up with a ball gown skirt decorated by silk organza petals that pose on the sheer fabric like delicate butterflies. The torso is elongated and slightly tucked while neckline is adorned by an asymmetric cowl and petals. —Anne Chertoff
