Carlos Ramirez is emphatically sticking to what he feels he does best. "I am a close to the body guy," he says about the body-hugging gowns he designs at Liancarlo. "I am a Miami guy."
Indeed — and with a great result! Working with luxe fabrics of satin georgette and silk chiffon, the gowns are rich in hand-worked details such as gathered lace and flattering draping. A prime example of this is the beautiful, hand-threaded bodice on this dress that requires hours of work. One wrong move during the sewing process and it starts all over again. —Michelle Preli
