Vera Wang's fall collection of 17 gowns played with a strong, striking accent color, black. Sometimes it showed as long black opera gloves. Other times, as a grosgrain bow at the waist. She also criss-crossed sheer black organza as a halter tie. Her inspiration? The "cinematic beauty, daring, and drama of Cecil Beaton's My Fair Lady." She also had some beautiful, pared-down illusion corset bodice's with nude tulle for a peek-a-boo effect on the back that was subtle. —Michelle Preli
