The photography for our Fall 2009 issue looks amazing! We shot our fashion story "Take Flight," inspired by Amelia Earhart, at a very unique location in Rhinebeck, NY, called the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. What a fun place—they have so many old authentic airplanes and cars that still fly and drive, it's like stepping back in time.

It was the fifth time we shot with the always-inspiring Rodney Smith and this experience definitely ranks as one of my favorites. This is in spite of the fact that it pretty much rained the entire second day. There were literally moats of water and mud around all of our vehicles and we all departed the shoot soaked to our knees. Our models, Ingrid and Robert, were troopers. Thanks to them we pulled off some really fantastic shots (this one was snapped by our associate fashion editor, Alycia). What was truly sweet was that Ingrid was already a huge fan of aviation and Ameila Earhart. We almost lost her among all the vintage planes everywhere—she kept taking her own photos and didn't want to leave.

By the way, the town of Rhinebeck is also a super cute and fun place to visit if you're ever in upstate NY. A day at the Aerodrome, where they do air shows every summer weekend, can be followed by some really amazing food at one of the many restaurants in town. The close proximity to Hyde Park, NY, the home of the Culinary Institute of America, seems to have landed many talented chefs in Rhinebeck.
