Going vintage

Last week I told you how great the photography is in our fall issue (if I do say so myself). Besides the beautiful fashion portfolio "Take Flight" shot by Rodney Smith, we've got "Vintage Point," a gorgeous story photographed by the fantastic Kayt Jones. We found the perfect location located smack in the middle of Staten Island. It was a house built in the 1800s and kept as original as possible by the current owners. That being said, its walls were literally peeling and looked perfectly old and even romantic, in a Victorian lace kind of way. It was the perfect backdrop for the always-fantastic dresses our fashion editors Monica and Alycia bring. Erin, our lifestyle editor, made a guest appearance on this shoot. She brought in lovely things—just the right pieces of furniture and props to give our model something to sit or lean on. The shoot was long—the whole story was shot in a single day—but the results were worth it. Let me know what you think of it. —Claudia Grimaldi, photo editor, Elegant Bride
