I have now recovered from the hectic week that was New York Fashion Spring 2010! As much as I love the Fall collections for the heavier layered pieces, fab jackets, rich colors and the trends that generally suit my personal taste, the Spring collections always seem like a breath of fresh air. They've got the lighter fabrics and colors that I always swear I will try to incorporate into my day to day wear... but never seem to have the guts to do.The majority of the fashions I saw were completely wearable and sweet without being overly precious. There were amazing dresses that I thought would be great for engagement parties and rehearsal dinners. Some of my faves include a purple silk dress from Oscar de la Renta, a red hot Donna Karan number, a simple yet chic yellow dress from Reem Acra, a fun and flirty feather concoction from Jason Wu and a teal pleated gown with a daring plunging neckline from Luca Luca.
I also went mad for the gorgeous white gowns that hit the runways. A few were definitely worthy of fairytale weddings... or at the very least, the pages of Elegant Bride! The standouts for me were from Marchesa and J Mendel. Next up, the European shows! —Monica Cotto, fashion editor, Elegant Bride
