While many of my colleagues were pounding the pavement of NYC Fashion Market last week, I was enjoying the calm and tranquil showrooms of the NY Bedding Market.
Manufacturers like Ralph Lauren and DKNY showed lots of florals and neutrals on sheets and towels and it's no surprise that organic anything is still expanding in every direction. But the launch that piqued my interest most was a unique licensing agreement between Borghese Skincare & Cosmetics with United Feather & Down, linking beauty to the bedroom.
A group of editors gathered to hear glamorous CEO and President of Borghese, Georgette Mosbacher, talk about this new partnership. In a nutshell, ladies, her photo-fabulous look was not just from those Tuscan creams and balms: She said that a good night's sleep is her true beauty secret. So, it's not a magic potion, but a notion...of a healthy, rejuvenated, relaxed self. Hence the brand's tagline "The Elements of Life" that inspired this beautiful luxe new Italian cotton bedding line. There's also a super-soft line of travel gear. Of course each item is packaged with a sample of corresponding Borghese skin care products. It is a fact that we spend a third of our lives in our bed.
