Flipping for The Flip

amberinset.jpg

I'm sure you've heard of The Flip video camcorder (it made our annual list of "100 Things We Love" in the August/September issue) and I just wanted to assure everyone that it really is as easy as they say. One thing you should know about me is that I can't read directions on anything technical (cameras, printers, etc.), I get easily frustrated and give up. However, not only is the Flip foolproof but when you're showing your edited movies to your friends and family, it makes you look really cool.

Case in point: I shot and edited my last trip to Italy complete with a soundtrack and opening credits, and I received so many compliments on my new-found talent as a filmmaker. Of course, I couldn't take the credit—the Flip guides you step-by-step in the editing process. It even makes it easy to email the finished videos or post them on YouTube (as I did, so my family could get jealous) or on Facebook.

By far my favorite part is that my trip and memories look better in the movie versions that they did in real life. My best friend Diane, who was with me in Italy, said our trip was fun but that watching the movies made it look amazing. That's what happens when you add a Kiss soundtrack to your life! —Amber Furst, associate lifestyle/reception editor, Modern Bride
