A Lasting Impression

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is the ring exchange. I think the symbolic exchange as the bride and groom declare, "with this ring, I thee wed" is so romantic. So it comes as no surprise that I'm so curious to discover the special little words that go inside the band. Whether it's sentimental thoughts, nicknames, or a simple "I love you," I always find that an engraving can be heartfelt and special to just the two involved. I once heard of a couple who engraved the map points (latitude and longitude) of the place they first met! There are so many unique options when choosing engraving—including a Chris Parry design that allows for an imprint of your spouse's fingerprint—that the options seem to be limitless. Tell us: What do you have engraved on your band?—Samantha Leal, intern, Elegant Bride

We don't have our wedding bands yet, since our date isn't until May 2010. Although we do already know what we want. We are going to engrave the hirigana (Japanese characters) for "Aishiteru" which is "I love you" in Japanese. ^.^
