Holding Pattern

I wanted to write today about my wedding plans, but as I thought (and thought and thought) about what I could share, I realized I have absolutely nothing new to report! My fiance and I have not settled on a single thing (or done much research) since we booked the caterer in April. We're constantly reminding each other that we have a stack of band demos to listen to and that it's really about time we settle on an insurance policy for our venue, but the weeks keep passing and our plans haven't moved forward a smidge. I'm the first to admit I agonize too much over the details—my dress search, which I recently wrote about, is just one example (like everything else, this is also on hold)—but I'll blame our busy summer schedule for the general screeching halt our plans have come to. I'd like to know, have you taken a break, intentionally or not, from the planning grind? How'd you get back into the swing of things? &mash;Michaela Garibaldi, assistant managing editor, Modern Bride

Seems like I go from full speed ahead to a grinding halt(don't even want to discuss wedding plans). My future mother-in-law is hand making our invitations so her need for my input gets me going again. Try delegating something that will take some time to plan, but that you're not going to be real picky about. That person may just be the motivation you need.
