Almost half a year after her boyfriend David Otunga proposed to Jennifer Hudson on her birthday, the singer returned the favor by proposing to Otunga with an engagement ring on his birthday.
Jeweler Neil Lane, who designed the 5-carat platinum and diamond ring (as well as the engagement ring Otunga gave to Jennifer Hudson), hints that the singer's proposal could start a trend in engagement rings for men. "Diamonds are still a girl's best friend. Now we reached a point where a little sparkle is a guy's best friend too," he says.
