It's wedding season again

I know this because of the oversized envelopes that keep appearing in my mailbox. This summer I'll be watching friends get married by a lake in Massachusetts and another pair tie the knot at an outdoor affair in downtown Philly. I wish them all the perfect weather that lures brides and grooms to plan a warm-weather celebration. However, this always gets me thinking about poor, forgotten winter. Now that's my idea of a beautiful wedding. Imagine a sparkly dress, a blanket of soft, fresh snow and the sun bouncing off trees heavy with icicles. Throw in a quaint church in the middle of nowhere and I'm sold. Sure, my mind usually wanders after that to canceled flights, icy roads and all the other travel nightmares that can accompany winter. But I quickly banish those thoughts and return to the day where Mother Nature cooperates and gives me the white wedding I'm dreaming about. It sounds magical, doesn't it? —Anita K.
