I'm constantly looking outside of the traditional bridal world for things that could work for a reception story in MB. I also look for items that could have multiple uses.
Last week I was in my local Hallmark store and wandered over to the gift wrap section and was pretty surprised at the selection. There were magenta fabric flowers to embellish wrapped packages... but I saw them as potential hair accessories or belt corsages for a bridesmaid that would cost $3. There was a darling pink gingham fabric bag with a green grosgrain ribbon handle for $5 that would be ideal for the flower girl and her petals. There were word tags like 'love' and 'enjoy' for $2 that could be attached to attendants' gifts, used as napkin rings or added to a dessert table or candy station.
Inspired by all these finds I went online to see what else they had. I saw more fabric flowers, this time in whites and creams, and imagined them as a whimsical boutonniere or in a bouquet. Then I stumbled upon an adhesive wrapping paper—no more tape, the paper sticks to itself. After I watched a "How Does It Work?" video, I immediately ordered a roll and can't wait to test-drive it. It looked great for the bride who's short on time and has to wrap presents for the bridesmaids and her parents (and—let's be honest—the groomsmen and groom's parents, too). —Amber Furst, Associate Lifestyle Editor, Modern Bride
