Three of a Kind: Tulle Ballgowns

Wedding Dresses

New York—Tulle is making its return to bridal—in a much more tasteful and less poufy early 90's type of way. Skirts made of this flowing fabric are ruling the runway. Their light and airy mood makes for a perfect sweeping ball gown for a black tie affair. The first dress (far left) we saw last night when we went to view Monique Lhuillier's new collection at the London Hotel in New York (confusing, I know). The tulle skirt flows out of an ivory Chantilly lace embellished corset top. We love pretty much everything Angel Sanchez makes but this tulle gown with a draped, high waisted bodice and painted flower embroidery (middle) really hit the spot. To finish it off was this white ball gown from Anna Maier Ulla-Maija Couture that features a hand-embroidered bodice and sheered skirt. —Cari Wolfert
