If you're planning a wedding during these cold months it's a nice gesture to serve a hot beverage during your cocktail hour. We asked Boston cocktail guru Ed Garland of Beverage Events for his favorite winter warmer. His mulled cider recipe is easy enough to recreate and is sure to heat up guests coming in from the cold.Bostonian Mulled Cider
1 cup Maker's Mark bourbon
4 cups apple cider
1 lemon rind, sliced thin
2 small cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
Combine ingredients in a saucepan and heat to boiling. Serve hot, in mugs, garnished with cinnamon sticks. Serves 8.
