Recently I attended a wedding in Chicago held at A New Leaf. I chose to stay at my usual Chicago hotel of choice, the W Lakeshore, where I signed up for a package deal that included a gift upon arrival. In addition to my two free drinks at the living room in the hotel, I also received Glam, An Eyewitness Account by Mick Rock and the Orbit MP3 from Altec Lansing.
The Orbit MP3 is a singular speaker that easily connects to iPods, MP3 players, CD players, and computer laptops. I opened it up yesterday, connected my iPod, and within milliseconds the room was filled with deep clear sound...
It's perfect for transporting your music outside to your deck, to a picnic in the park, in your office or even when you need to add some music to your bathroom. And speaking of perfect, at a list price of $39.95, it makes a great gift for your groomsmen if your budget is under $50.
If you are looking for something a little more pricey, you should check out the new
Timex military watch made exclusively for J. Crew. Brides.com recently visited the J. Crew showroom and I was lucky enough to try out this hip vintage-inspired timepiece and received many compliments on it.
Timex reached into its archives and replicated elements of its WWII aviation-style watches. With its clean monocrhomatic look, bold red second hand and green luminescent paint on the hour hand markers, it is easy to read in any light. Keeping to its military roots, the watch shows both 12 and 24 hour time. A simple black nylon strap completes the military look. If you want to make the watch more J. Crew-like or to match your wedding colors just purchase a $20 colored striped strap available in polar blue, bright royal, holiday red, bisque and classic navy. —John Vaccaro
