I just had to share this adorable San Francisco-themed cake from one of my favorite recent discoveries, baker Gabrielle Feuersinger of Cake Coquette. After graduating from The California Culinary Academy, Gabrielle built up her resume working at the W Hotel in Seattle and at Cake Divas in Los Angeles before returning to her native San Francisco last year to open her own cake design business. She names baroque ornaments, Victorian wallpaper, and Moroccan pottery as some of the things that have inspired her designs. Check out her blog for more of her fabulous creations. —Lauren Matthews, Associate Editor, Brides Local Magazines

Wedding Wisdom: Don't be afraid to try something original when it comes to your wedding cake—talented bakers can take even the most random piece of inspiration (your hometown's skyline, a favorite piece of jewelry, your parents' wedding china) and turn it into a lovely cake.
