I'm a Northern Californian through-and-through, but since I've started covering the SoCal market for the magazine, I have to say that the area is definitely growing on me. One of the best things about SoCal is that the area is chock full of gorgeous, completely-unique event spaces. And one of my favorites is Vibiana, a beautiful venue in downtown L.A. that I recently got to check out in person while attending a party hosted by Brides Southern California.
The 1876 Spanish Baroque-style space was formerly a Catholic parish—St. Vibiana's Cathedral—that has been recently renovated after being damaged in the 1994 Northridge quake. And the result is absolutely spectacular. With soaring gilded ceilings, rich wood floors, and stately while columns, the venue is the perfect combination of Old World beauty and contemporary panache. —Heather Lee, Assistant Editor, Brides Local Magazines
