On Friday, my friend Hungry Girl invited me to join her at a 1-800-Flowers cupcake event.

Never one to turn down a cupcake, I accepted the invite wondering what the connection was between cupcakes and flowers. When I arrived though I immediately understood. The event was an afternoon cupcake tea for the launch of a new product, the "Cupcake in Bloom," a floral cupcake-shaped arrangement of fresh white carnations. While designed to be used for any event with a removable candle and a "Celebrate!" flag, these cupcake arrangements would work as centerpieces at a shower, engagement party or wedding with a cupcake theme as well.

Not to disappoint, the event attended mainly by cupcake bloggers, had edible cupcakes as well provided by 1-800-Flowers sister company, Cheryl & Co making it a nice way to end the week.

1-800-Flowers Cupcake in Bloom is 5" high x 6.5" deep and sells for $24.99. Available beginning October 1. The Everything Cupcake Birthday Cupcakes from Cheryl & Co. are $49.95 for a set of 12 and $29.95 for a set of six. —John Vaccaro
