I create photographs that illustrate fresh concepts for decorating and celebrating with style. I look everywhere for new talent, products and ideas to create images to inspire your wedding day.

Once a year I produce one hundred ideas for our annual flower special. For the issue on newsstands now I spent five very full days in a studio last April. My crew included two editors, five floral designers, a crew of set builders, a team of interns, truckloads of props, a photographer and assistants and thousands of flowers. The result: Twenty pages with over 100 new ideas for decorating your wedding ceremony and reception. Here are five of my favorite new ideas...

1. Reception lounges are all the rage--these place-card free zones want dramatic decor. Create eye-catching focal points with oversized lamps. Here hydrangea decorated silk shades hang over ottomans for a mod arrangement. By Bridget Vizoso, The Designers-Coop, New York City.

2. Dress tables with an organic linen like this one with preserved lambs' ear (a type of plant) which adheres to a cotton cloth. Place on top a modern arrangement of short-stemmed calla lilies and cherry blossoms to create a smart escort card table. Created by Lewis Miller, LMD FLoral, New York City

On Thursday, September 25th we'll post the rest of Maria's favorite ideas. Pick up the current issue of Brides magazine to see the rest of Maira's 100 flower ideas. And visit her Web site, MariaMcBride.com, for more wedding inspiration.
