If you ever saw the movie Blood Diamond, you don't need me to tell you about the scary stories behind some of those lovely sparklers. Wouldn't it be nice to know that you helped change that dynamic? Well, jewelry designer Jennifer Dawes is doing her part by creating a contemporary collection of engagement-worthy diamond rings, stone-studded wedding bands, bracelets and earrings using recycled gold, conflict-free diamonds and responsibly minded stones. And to give you an idea of the cost, the square diamond and sapphire band at the top of this photo is $3,300, the more prominent diamond ring underneath sells for $6,000 and the eternity band at the bottom of this photo retails at $3,600. Overall, prices range from about $600 to upwards of $6,000, including large solitaire diamond rings, such as an 18-karat gold hand-hammered ring with a hefty rose-cut diamond as well as gold Tiffany-esque stackable bands.
