Real Couple Playlist: Sara and Manny
When Sara Parker, a senior paralegal, married Manny Steffan, a teacher, they decided to choose nontraditional songs to play at their wedding that had a special meanings to them as a couple. The evening started with an instrumental version of "Forever" by Ben Harper. "This song was played when Manny proposed to me," says the bride.
At their cocktail hour the DJ played "Better Together" by Jack Johnson and "Stay" by Dave Matthews Band. The newlyweds entered their reception to "Gonna Fly Now" by Bill Conti (the theme from Rocky) and danced their first dance to "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. The groom and his mother danced to "Loves Me Like a Rock" and the bride and her father danced to "Father and Daughter" both by Paul Simon. They cut the cake to "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You," then tore up the dance floor to songs like "I Got a Woman" by Ray Charles and "Save the Last Dance for Me" by Michael Buble.
Listen to their wedding songs below and get more song ideas, band and DJ advice and more.
