Outdoor weddings: A DO or DON'T?

Outdoor weddings look so peaceful, so charming, so...fun! A small-scale BBQ in your backyard, a full-blown tent (complete with chandeliers!) on a ranch, a seaside wedding in the Bahamas—they all sound great. But lately, we've heard from guests who've had to cope with high-heels sinking into the grass, obnoxious mosquitoes, and the most dreaded wedding menace of all: rain. If you're a prepared bride (think: bug spray, shade from the sun, refreshing drinks and bathroom facilities for guests) it can be a great experience. Otherwise, taking it indoors is a much less stressful way to go. What about you? Preferences on an indoor vs. an outdoor wedding anyone? —Jackie, BRIDES Magazine

    1. Our outdoor wedding could not have been better on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We took advantage of the natural surrounds of live oaks and crepe myrtles. Be sure to have tent options!
