Modern Bride
No two weddings are alike
Something I love about working for Modern Bride is writing for our Real Weddings section (See one I wrote here.) I really enjoy speaking to each bride and getting to know them and their husbands through the sharing of the details of their wedding. The interview can be intimate, as the bride fills me in on some of the most personal details of her big day, but the best part is that every bride is different. They choose varying venues, diverse decor choices and include unique traditions and customs in their weddings... but the sentiment is always the same. They get caught up in reminiscing about the love shared on that happy day when they were surrounded by all their friends and family. Sometimes I get caught up in trying to capture all the details and I ask my brides to hold on just one moment, while my fingers fly over the keyboard, trying to type all their creative ideas. I then distill them down into a two- or four-page story for you to read and gather inspiration for your own wedding! —Abbe Wright, assistant to the editor-in-chief, Modern Bride
