Registry rewards
A friend of mine recently registered at Macy's and was excited to find out that the store gives you a gift card worth 5 percent of the amount your guests spend on you. For example, if the registry presents that are purchased total $3,000, you'll get a $150 gift card to spend at Macy's. I wondered if other stores were offering similar incentives for brides and grooms, so I did a little digging and found a few:
Bed Bath & Beyond: If you're registered here and you refer friends to register as well, you'll get a $25 award for each friend that's good toward any BB&B item costing $50 or more.
Michael C. Fina: Couples register here in large part for their amazing selection of china, crystal and silver. Based on the total value of presents purchased, you'll receive a gift. For example, if your total is more than $5,000, you can choose either an iPod docking station or an Olympus digital camera.
Frette: This luxury-linens and home decor company just launched a wedding registry service. After your first gift is purchased, you'll receive personalized his and hers Frette terry robes. Also, if your presents-purchased total goes over $5,000, you'll receive a Frette gift card worth $500.
