Carolina Herrera goes for the gold (and purple)

Ms. Herrera was channeling autumn colors like deeps golds and shades of lavender for her Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection that debuted in New York this week. The sparkling fabrics were then bejeweled to give the pieces an ultra-glam look that I wouldn't be surprised to see on the red carpet.
Gold is a great alternative to white if you are looking for something a little different on your wedding day. The color holds enough importance so you still stand out from the crowd, and in a softer shade it will give you a perfect subtle glow. —Cari Wolfert
