A wedding made for book lovers

    BRIDES-September-October-2009-Library-Wedding-Fashion-250.jpg

    Diana Koenigsberg/BRIDES

The "Love Letters" fashion portfolio in our current September/October issue gave us the idea for a wedding built around the theme of books. Locations: a private library or independent bookstore. Centerpieces: Piles of leather-bound books. First dance: At the Library (Green Day). Favors: bookmarks. Cake topper: A pair of reading specs. What do you think? Silly or sublime? —Sally, BRIDES Magazine

    1. We had our wedding in a library that looks just like this one! My husband and I met in a book club, but we wanted the library setting to be the only nod to that. We filled the shelves with candles and marked the "alter" with tall candelabra. I carried black magic roses and the bridesmaids wore dark red... it was all very dark and moody. Later, we had a jazz band and dancing in the library, and with everyone in black tie and drinking champagne it felt very elegant.
