Here's our favorite cost-cutting tip from Today Show financial wiz Jean Chatzky: Know your budget. In our July/August issue, Chatzky shares her ideas on how to save money on the wedding. First, figure out how much you have to spend. It sounds obvious, but the fact is that once you have a real, solid figure in your head, you can talk more knowledgeably to everyone with whom you'll be talking money—you can tell a potential caterer if he's out of your league (in which case he may trim his estimate!), or explain to a florist that you have exactly X amount of money to spend on the flowers.
