Something old and blue

Courtesy of Mia Sophia
I don't know about you, but for my own wedding next year, I have a feeling the whole "something old, something new..." tradition will be a last-ditch effort (as in, drawing on the soles of my shoes with a blue marker the morning of my wedding). However, if you want to make sure you're covered, why not find items that fit into multiple categories? For example, these earrings by Houston-based Mia Sophia are both "something old" and "something blue." They're vintage pieces from a Paris jeweler that have been refurbished—and they're a gorgeous blue glass that looks great with any skin tone. Mia Sophia has lots of beautiful vintage pieces for very reasonable prices. If you're willing to stretch the limits of "something blue," check out her beautiful purple pieces as well. Visit Mia Sophia's Etsy site for more information.—Kim Forrest, Editor, Brides Houston

I love those! I have started making "Something Old" garters for the very reason you mention. It's a way to combine some of the finishing details (of which there are sooooo many!) I will be sure to visit Mia Sophia!
