Dancing the night away

Boston restaurant UpStairs on the Square and the Bo and Bill Winiker Orchestra have teamed up for a fun event that's a great alternative to the standard band showcase. Once a month (the August event is this Thursday, the 27th), the Winiker Orchestra performs during dinner at UpStairs on the Square, and diners are encouraged to get up and boogie. This way, you can see how people react to the band in a wedding-like setting. The Orchestra plays a variety of music, everything from swing to Top 40 (Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" is a recent hit). Dancing begins at 9 p.m. In case you can't attend the event this week, don't fret, the Winiker Orchestra will perform again at UpStairs on the Square on Thursday, September 24th, Thursday, October 22nd, and Thursday, November 19th.
