    Our wedding blogger field trip

If you were following us on Twitter yesterday you would have learned about our tour of weddings in New York. The Brides.com editors hosted a group of wedding bloggers on a visit to not only some of the top vendors in the city but in the world.

Joining us on the tour were: Vane from Brooklyn Bride, Maria from Ritzy Bee, Anne-Marie from Perfect Bound, Courtney from Little White Book, Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper, Jillian from 100 Layer Cake and Bee from Wedding Bee.

Our first stop was the Reem Acra showroom on 5th Avenue where we got to talk with Reem via Skype, browse the latest collection as well as some of the red carpet gowns worn by celebrities, including Beyonce, Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry.

Next we went downtown to Colin Cowie's offices to learn about wedding style and trends and how he turns a bride's idea into an amazing affair. Colin also shared some of his wedding planning tips.

We had lunch at the newly renovated Plaza Hotel, which included a tour of the Palm Court, Terrace Room for ceremonies and the Grand Ballroom. Catering company, Great Performances, served a tasting menu from their upcoming fall 100 Mile Menu. Marc Spooner, the Production Chef at Great Performances and winner of this season's Chopped that airs on the Food Network, showed us how they created each dish.

After lunch we got a tour of the Cartier mansion, the jeweler's flagship store in New York City. We learned about the company's engagement and wedding ring collections as well as their fine jewelry, watch and gift collections. And a few bloggers got to try on some fabulous rings.

Our final stop was wedding cake baker Ron Ben-Israel's studio. We tasted his delicious cakes and Ron showed us the design and production process, including a look at some of the fabulous (and over the top) wedding cakes he's created over the years.

Stay tuned for a complete slide show of the day. —Anne Chertoff
