See the Light

If you were ever wondering about the importance of lighting, check out this photo. NYC floral designer David Beahm, who works with us regularly and was named an MB Trendsetter in 2008, sent it to me. The photo was taken by Brian Dorsey of Brian Dorsey Studios in NYC and it features David's work as well as that of Bentley Meeker, a NYC lighting designer and another MB Trendsetter. David told me more about the scene: "There are about two weeks during the spring that Yoshino cherry trees bloom, and this bride happened to win the lottery this year. Bentley Meeker Staging and Lighting made it all pop. Can you imagine this tree, in that gorgeous room, without lighting? It would have been a disaster. Spring trees look glorious in the sunlight, so it's our job to bring a little sunlight inside." —Linda Hirst, Lifestyle/Reception Director, Modern Bride
