What not to wear: Guest dressing

    BRIDES-What-Guests-Should-Wear-250.jpg

    James Merrell/BRIDES

As the bride, you have it easy: You're going to wear a wedding gown. But guests seem to be having a harder time of it. We've seen pictures of formal weddings where guests show up in shorts. We've seen ushers pin their boutonnieres to their shirt pockets. (Really! What happened to the whole jacket thing?) We've seen women who look like they've come directly from Pilates class. So what's the deal here—did somebody throw away the dress code manual? We figure that a wedding is a chance for everyone to dress up and look special. Let us know if you spot any sartorial sins on the wedding front.... —Sally, BRIDES magazine

    1. So is it ok to put a dress code (i.e. - Cocktail attire requested) on the invite?
