Weddings to Watch
NYC pop-up wedding chapel
From the Little White Wedding Chapel to Graceland and Shalimar, Las Vegas has its share of quick-fix wedding chapels. And now, for a short time only, Manhattan does, too! "Wedding Chapel" at the Grand Opening storefront on 139 Norfolk Street offers kitschy, fun and affordable weddings—the New York way. Couples can "get married, remarried or pretend-married this summer" for just $200-$500. Although the intimate venue will only seat 15-20 of your closest relations, "Wedding Chapel" offers live internet streaming, as well as tons of other entertaining, yet practical amenities.
Since its July 12th opening, the site has played host to tenevents—including five real weddings, two mock weddings and one vow renewal. New York Magazine's "man on the street" wanted to get in on the action. Watch his video to see what happens! —Melanie Baevsky
