Something blue

Charles Masters/BRIDES
Diamonds may be forever, but in our July/August issue, we're featuring a page of engagement rings with brilliant blue stones—sapphires, tanzanite, aquamarines—totally gorgeous. With one of these beauties, you have the "something blue" taken care of for your walk down the aisle. Any of you rocking an untraditional ring? —Sally, BRIDES Magazine

yes! i have always wanted a non-traditional rock, and my fiance picked out a beautiful blue zircon cushion cut with a micropave halo! it's so unique, and stunning!
It's funny you should run this because I actually don't like traditional white diamonds, so I have told my boyfriend he will get of easy when it comes to getting my engagement ring! I actually have some precious stones that my family had that I inherited. My birthstone is aquamarine, my son's birthstone is sapphire and my boyfriend's birthstone is ruby. I have all of them and have designed a ring with them all. The aquamarine is actually the largest stone, cut into a marquise shape, and will be the main stone in the design, then the ruby and sapphire are both between a round and oval cut (I guess it would be more oval!) will be on the sides outlined by smaller rubies and sapphires that are cut into round and trillion shapes. I have also designed my boyfriends ring but he doesn't want the stones so it is much simpler than mine! Thankfully we have a great friend that is a jeweler and does wonderful work!!!
My fiance knew how much I loved blue and got me a blue diamond engagement ring. It's gorgeous! We picked the perfect setting, too -- I'm the only one with a ring like mine.
I saw this yesterday while waiting in line to check-out. I have the Aquamarine legacy shown in the photo. Except I believe this one is the Tanz instead. I love my blue ring because it is both of ours birthstone! Exciting to see this article!
