    Matchy-matchy maids?

Choosing the bridesmaids dresses can upend even the best friendships: Pick something they don't like, and a dark cloud descends on the whole wedding. In our current issue, we show maids dresses in four super-flattering neutrals--black, brown, cream, and grey--all meant to be worn after the wedding. (Honestly! Check it out!) And then we got to thinking...how many of you are just naming a color and length and letting your girls find their own dresses? Good idea or recipe for disaster? What do you think? — Sally, BRIDES Magazine

    1. I'm asking all of them to pick their own dresses. The only stipulations are: knee-length, garden wedding appropriate, somewhere on the color spectrum between light and dark gray. Patterns, solids and different fabrics are all okay by me. I think it will end up looking really modern and fun!

    2. I decided on a fabric (chiffon), color (latte) and length (tea). Then I selected dresses in different styles (available in my selections) for my bridesmaids to choose from. For my maid of honor - same fabric and color but a style different then what was made available to the bridesmaids! It seems to be working out well :)
