The Brilliance of a Boat

For my birthday this year, I invited all of my friends for a boat ride around New York City. As we cruised along the Hudson River, it was amazing to look around and see only familiar faces staring back at me. And it was pretty sweet to be the center of attention—just like a bride—if only for a short while. But as the night wore on, I realized something even better... Unlike a celebration on dry land where people might leave a party early, for whatever reason, my friends were trapped! Once they boarded the boat, they belonged to me and Old Man River until we docked a few hours later. That fact alone made me enjoy the party so much more. I was able to relax because I knew I had plenty of time to make the rounds and spend some quality time with all of my guests. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this. Think about a boat for your engagement party, rehearsal dinner or next-day brunch. Imagine strolling around the deck, chatting with ease (read: no stress!) and knowing that each and every guest on your Love Boat isn't going anywhere until the party's really over. —Anita K.
