Boston
Take the cannoli

Mike's Pastry
With my wedding at the BLP fast approaching, I've been on the hunt for a Boston-themed gift I'll be able to give as a thank you to my friends and family who have done so much to make the day special. The answer came in the form of Mike's Pastry Fresh Cannoli Kit. I can (and often do) go on and on about how much I relish the divine desserts at this famous North End bakery, so the thought of my nearest and dearest who don't live in Boston-proper being able to sample the shop's most famous confections from the comfort of their own home seems the perfect thing. The $25.00 kit contains the makings for 10 cannolis: your pick of chocolate, vanilla, or traditional ricotta filling, homemade shells, and trimmings like chocolate chips, mixed green nuts and confectioner's sugar. Assembly's on the simple side and enjoying the finished result is pretty much guaranteed. —Leigh Crandall, managing editor, Brides Boston
