Destination Weddings & Honeymoons
Reconnect at the Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton, Rose Hall in Jamaica
I recently met with representatives from The Ritz-Carlton's Caribbean and Mexico properties, and we got to talking about destination weddings. I said what I always say, which is that one of the most appealing parts about holding your wedding in a far-flung locale is the concentrated time you get to spend with you closest family and friends in a beautiful part of the world. The Ritz-Carlton's properties in Caribbean and Mexico have long been popular wedding locales for couples, but from their guests perspective, the thought of staying at a Ritz-Carlton for a few days is lovely but frankly a bit too pricey. And if guests are staying at a different resort than the couple, the whole fun of all congregating at the same place—the point of a destination wedding—goes right out the window...
The solution was clear: wedding guests needed more affordable rates and thus The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of the Caribbean & Mexico created the Reconnect package for friends of a couple holding their wedding at any of their 5 properties. Rates start at $269 per night and vary depending on the hotel. Included in the rate are a daily breakfast for two and $100 daily resort credit to use for spa treatments, shopping, and recreation activities (yes, pina coladas at the pool qualify...). And the couple benefits too: they get a complimentary wedding ceremony and a free, three-night stay for their first
anniversary. Now if only they'd throw in airfare...Check out more destination wedding ideas in the current issue of Brides Florida. —Leigh Crandall, managing editor, Brides FloridaPost Your Comment

I have seen a lot of Panama City Weddings in Florida at this same named resort.
