    Reel Review: The Proposal

Unless you have been living under a rock you have probably seen previews for the much publicized new movie The Proposal that hits theaters today. The movie stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds (wait until you see his no-shirt scenes, no wonder he was scooped up by Scarlet Johansson)! Reynolds plays Andrew, Sandra Bullock's character Margaret's assistant. When Margaret finds out that she is being deported to Canada (coincidentally Bullock is American, Reynolds is Canadian), Andrew agrees to marry her in order to get a promotion.

The actual "proposal" happens outside the immigration office where Andrew forces Margaret to get down on one knee and ask him to marry her. We like the throwback to tradition combined with the new notion that a woman can propose to a man, but the whole forcing thing is where we got thrown off...

Then the two are off to Alaska (aka New England where the film was actually taped) to Andrew's family's gorgeous lakeside mansion where later his parents insist the two marry. Margaret sarcastically jokes that she always wanted to get married in a rustic barn, but when you see how the place comes together for their nuptials there is no reason to kid. Birch tress strung with lights lined the aisle (see a photo of the scene here) and the intimate ceremony of close friends and family was beyond romantic.

As you have probably seen in the trailer, Margaret ends up wearing Andrew's grandmother's weddings dress. Read what the costume designer said about the dress and check out our tips for wearing a vintage wedding dress.

Go see the The Propsal today to see if the two actually tie the knot in the film. —Cari Wolfert

    1. Wow~~~Margaret ends up wearing Andrew's grandmother's weddings dress, that is really an old one?

Why not checked out www.milanoo.com and find a new one, it's quite cheap and looks good.
