Florida
A $1,000 wedding (no joke!)
Courtesy of Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort
Calling all Florida brides on a budget: I just got word that the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach is offering a beachfront wedding package for just $1,000. The package includes a sunset ceremony on the beach, a three-course meal for the couple and ten wedding guests at the resort's Kitchen 305 restaurant, wedding cake, a corsage and boutonniere, an officiant, and a one-night hotel stay. This offer may not fit the bill if you're hosting a bigger bash, but it does go to show how properties are lowering rates and offering more affordable wedding packages to entice couples to book. So the lesson learned? Don't be afraid to negotiate. For more detailed advice on effectively negotiating with vendors, stay tuned for "The Art of Negotiation," an article in the upcoming issue of Brides Florida. And for more information on the resort's package, call (800) 327-5476. —Heather Lee, Editor, Brides Florida
