Recession-friendly planning
If you're looking for ideas on how to throw a fabulous wedding with limited financial resources (and who isn't these days?), there's two upcoming events in New York City you'll want to attend:
On June 13 and 14 from 10 am to 1 pm, Sweet Revenge—a cupcake and wine bar at 62 Carmine Street in the West Village—will be hosting a recession-friendly wedding planning event. The one-stop shop will give you access to experts in invitations, jewelry, photography, floral design, wedding planning, and bridal couture providing tips on how to operate on a budget. One lucky bride-to-be in attendance will win a grand prize package of fabulous wedding merchandise and services.
On June 20, from 7 to 10 pm, The Boutique Group—a new event design firm specializing in coordinating events for clients with limited budgets—will be hosting a "Recession Chic" event at the New Art Center Gallery, 580 8th Avenue, 5th floor. The evening will showcase several event professionals in catering, floral design, invitations and photography.
