Brides are Talking
Are wedding loans a good idea?

How will you pay for your wedding? This week in our Brides.com Forums everyone is talking about if it's a good idea to take out a loan to pay for the big day. See what brides are saying now:
Some brides feel a small loan is a good way to help fund the wedding and honeymoon. "For our wedding we took out a $2,000 loan and that paid for everything including our honeymoon," says JJsWifey08. "We didn't want too much to be on us."
Others believe that saving ahead of time is a better option than taking out a loan. "We had a long engagement (one year and seven months), and we saved like fiends," says Brownegirl. "I saved almost half my salary for the wedding every month."
And some brides suggest avoiding taking out a loan by finding ways to reduce costs on the big day. "We picked a general location out, and then I went on the penny pincher DIY craft-o-mania warpath," says Mushaboo.

I dont think loans should be taken out for the wedding unless they are small. My fiance and I are having a 22 month enagement so we can pay for the wedding. I recently switched jobs and now make more money to afford it but he is out of days off. So it is just ment to be that we wait. More time to plan and spend together.
