Oh, what a night!

We're all riding the high from last night's Modern Bride Trendsetters Awards Dinner. It was a hit!
The night started out on a very glam note, with the red carpet in the courtyard of the New York Palace Hotel. Flashbulbs were popping and camera crews were in place to capture our celeb presenters: Sex and the City's Kristin Davis; Christian Siriano of Project Runway; actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete; Bethenny Frankel of Real Housewives of NYC; and models Lydia Hearst and Rachel Hunter.
Quick impressions of all: Kristin's dress was gorgeous—she designed it herself for her line at Belk stores. Christian is sweet... and teeny! Holly and Rodney are an adorable, truly nice couple. Bethenny has incredible bone structure and is as funny and quick-witted as you'd expect. Lydia's got the skin of a porcelain doll, a la Nicole Kidman. And Rachel Hunter's unbelievably tall and still wore some killer sparkly stilettos. Some red-carpet shots...

During the awards presentation, our Trendsetters gave sweet, sometimes funny, always heartfelt acceptance speeches. (To meet our winners, see the section starting on page 209 of our June/July issue. They include Bee Kim of Weddingbee.com, Robert Kalt of Special E, Colin Cowie, and more.)
The hands-down most hilarious part of the night was the comedy performance from Susie Essman of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. She's known for her foul mouth and she didn't disappoint last night, though she told us that she seriously toned down her act for the room. She's a newlywed, having married in September. She had the crowd howling as she recapped some of the "ding-ding red flag" moments she blew off in previous relationships. (These are the guys' actions that should have had her running in the other direction, but she ignored.) I'd give you an example but they're not exactly suitable for our blog, and besides, I couldn't do it justice. She had the room screaming with laughter, and then came back a little later to present a few awards, too.
All in all, a complete success. And now we can get back to our next issue! —Kara Corridan, executive editor, Modern Bride

I saw Colin Cowie on Wedding TV or whatever it's called and he is a design genius. He's also been on Oprah a bunch too. Never met Bee Kim. Rachel Hunter is tall? I did not know that. Will there be anymore details on this event?
